(a) Write out your views on euthanasia. Do you agree with the idea of it and why?
(b) What is the current stand on euthanasia in Singapore? Do you think euthanasia should be practised in Singapore? Why or why not?
(c) Post a link in your blogs on any article on the issue (Anything aside from wikipedia)
(a) I do agree with the idea in some ways as for those patient that suffered from seriously illness(cancer, etc) are really unable to be cured or there is no hope of curing, why let them continue their life and suffer from the pain? Even though this is a matter of life and death, but the patient itself have the right to choose to live on or to end their life.
(b)The current stand on euthanasia in Singapore is not allowed but from my personal view, i think euthanasia should be practised because in Singapore, there's also people suffering from illness that cannot be cure and is wish to end their life in order to stop their pain. This should be granted to them after all its their life.

(a) What does being a Singaporean mean in general?
(b) What does being a Singaporean mean to me?
(c) What can or has Singapore do/done for me?
(d) What can I do for Singapore?
(e) If given the opportunity, would I leave the shores of Singapore in the hope of a better future? Why or why not?
Singaporeans are very different from other country in a way that they are multi-racial and do not have much conflicts between each other when they are living together as a nation and they will try their best to help out each other when others need help. Being a Singaporean to me means you are living in the country where you are born and the place where you grow up.
Singapore has done well in keeping the country peace and when comes to education, it has good facilities for the student to study better.
I do not need the opportunity as i already planed to leave Singapore after i have graduate from Secondary. I would like to go back to my country and continue my studies there.

Sri Lanka once charmed travelers with its beautiful sandy beaches, diverse landscapes and historical monuments. However, it’s now covered with ashes and dust.
Martha, Indian Tamil lives together with his father, Mali in rent house located at Colombo that has mixtures of Sinhalese and Tamils. He’s currently in college preparing to go into university and Mali works in government service.
However, in 1956 due to the new government that was made up mainly Sinhalese, they did not have the chance to continue on what they are doing. Martha’s father couldn’t apply the citizenship in Sri Lanka as he is not born or his forefather was born in Sri Lanka.
This had put Mali in difficulty as he is only given three years to learn Sinhala, if not he will be fired. However, when three years is up and Mali still couldn’t master the language resulting him being fired.
The new rules did not only affect Mali, it affected Martha as well. When Martha’s result was out, he scored good grade that allowed him to go university but he did not score higher then any of the Sinhalese students. This had caused him unable to enter to any university. He went to one of the university and please the person in charge, Mr. Warah “Sir please let me have a chance to join in university, I have good result.” Said Martha with disappointment.
“Well, we cant accept you as our student because your result did not score higher then any of the Sinhalese students. We cannot break the rules and even if you try to ask any of the schools, the answer will still be the same.” Replied Mr. Warah. When reached home, Martha tells his father with disappointment, “Papa no matter how well my grades are, I cannot enter any of the university.” Mali replied, “don’t be sad my son, and I have been fired but at least we still have this house to stay. We sure can have solution to solve our problems.”
Despite all this sad news, and to add on the fire, the landlord told them “you guys no longer can rent the house because your did not have citizenship.” After finish saying, the landlord chased them out of the house. Now, Mali and his son really become stateless – no job, no school and no house. “Papa I think we should go refugee camp to seek for help first.” Said Martha. “That’s a good idea, son.” Replied Mali gives a pat on his son shoulder.
On the way to the campsite, Martha and his father could see people carrying out arson attack such as setting fire on cars and bus stations because of the new rules set by the new government. After walking about an hours, they finally reached the refugee camp. They saw lots of people were injured due to the outbreak attack and many were homeless.
Few days later, Martha feels that by staying in the campsite is not a solution. So he decided to join the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). He also wants to help out and fight for their rights. However, things weren’t as success as he thinks. When LTTE went for war with Sinhalese, Unfortunately, Martha dies.

(c) How do I feel about the situation in Xinjiang?
(d) What could have been done to prevent such an incident from happening?
(e) How would I feel if such a situation were to occur in Singapore??
[A] The XinJiang riots, known as the July 2009 Ürümqi riots broke out and involving large number of people.
[B] The cause of the riots was because of a conflict between Han and Uyghur. To be more specific, it is because of the death of two Uyghur workers in Guangdong, the Chinese central government claimed that the riots themselves had been planned from abroad by the World Uyghur Congress (WUC). However, the World Uyghur Congress (WUC), denied have such a claim
[C & D] THe situation in Xinjing were horrible. After the first dae riots, 156 people were killed, of whom 129 were men and 27 women and 1,080 injured and 261 vehicles, 203 shops and 14 homes were destroyed. Research Needed
Citizenship Rights
After independence in 1948,the new government only granted citizenship to those who were either born in Sri Lanka or those whose forefathers were born there. This resulted in many Indian Tamils to become stateless as they were not citizens of any country. Indian Tamils like these are not given rights for basic things - Education, jobs, housing and voting, despite the fact that they lived in Sri Lanka for many years and contributed significantly to the economy by working in tea plantations.
Armed Conflict
Some Tamil youths formed a militant group, known as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam [LTTE], or Tamil Tigers. They were considered terrorists as they attacked Tamil members of the police force, Tamil members and supporters of the ruling party, and Tamil politicans who did not support the proposed seperate state. The LTTE also attacked the Sinhalese.

Should Singlish be the official language in Singapore?
Singlish should not become an official language in Singapore, because it will have problem when coming to those who are not familiar to it and even worst, foreigner. There will also have problem to those who are used to Singlish when it comes to writing because they might write too fast and did not notice if they write English or Singlish.
Singlish also a easily bad choice as when Singaporean were to go other countries, people may not understand what Singaporean are saying and they will have bad impression about Singapore. Thus, Singlish should not be an official language.
Lastly, if Singlish were to become an official language, Singaporean will start to have difficutly to speak good English, lack of grammatical and lack of ideas what is good English.
